I love adventure. I've ridden a camel in the Moroccan desert, trekked in the hills of Burma and scuba dived in the Caribbean Sea. My camera is always within reach. Photography encourages me to look differently at my world. Children help me laugh. Flowers make me smile. I believe talking about things helps. I believe people know a lot about themselves, but often forget to pause long enough to remember what they know.

I have worked in education and health care for 15 years. Employed by the Alberta Cancer Board for the past decade, I dedicated myself to developing a psychology program for children, teens and parents living with cancer. They have been my true teachers, about spirit, strength and soul. As a clinical assistant professor in Palliative Medicine at the University of Alberta, I taught, lectured and wrote articles about expressing thoughts and feelings in creative ways.

My areas of expertise include health challenges, psychological and physical trauma, hope, and expressive art. As a certified Compassion Fatigue Specialist, I focus on work with professionals in the areas of stress management, weariness of the caring soul, and care of the professional self. I also offer interactive workshops and presentations at hospitals, school boards conventions, and academic conferences.

I look forward to working with you!
